Reverend Kathryn Ransdell
Minister of UrbanLife

Rev. Kathryn Ransdell is an ordained Elder in The North Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. Earning her license to preach at the age of 19, she is thought to be the youngest female licensed to preach in The North Texas Conference. A graduate of Duke Divinity School, she is currently the Minister of UrbanLife, a new initiative at First Church. As Minister of UrbanLife, she is responsible for making vital connections with young professionals who are part of the urban renewal in downtown Dallas. Before coming to First Church, she was an associate pastor at St. Andrew UMC in Plano, where she preached weekly at the Early Service and developed a women's ministry. She is a magna cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. A student of holistic teaching, she is currently training for her third marathon and preparing to take her state licensure exam for massage therapy. She also is a student in the teacher-training program at Priya Yoga Studio in Dallas. She enjoys writing and blogs about her life and ministry (www.urbanlife-firstchurch.blogspot.com). She and her husband, Troy Ransdell, a licensed architect, are the parents of a 3-year-old Catahoula-Pointer mix named Sarah.
