Senior Adults

FirstSeniors is a ministry of First United Methodist Church, Dallas which ministers to senior adults, helps them minister to others, and involves them fully in the life of the church.

Our Programs Include:

Spring and Fall Retreats
Full-day sessions concentrate on spiritual formation for seniors. Past topics include “Looking and Listening for God,” “Faith in the Face of Illness, Injury and Injustice,” “Leaving a Legacy,” and “Passion, Poetry and Prayer.”

Winter Senior Issues Forum
A panel including experts in medicine, law, finance, insurance and end of life concerns tackles issues relevant to all who are over 60. This past year’s issue was “Dealing with Alzheimer’s”.

Intergenerational Events
These fellowship and service events involve folks of all ages.
Each summer we hold a “Spirit of Years Banquet” for Seniors hosted by FirstKids. Our most recent intergenerational service project involved 78 children, youth and adults in “Stop Hunger Now!” preparing 10,000 emergency food packets for hungry people around the world.
