Words from Quenetta Cox, DLC Director
Thank you for your interest in the Developmental Learning Center. We look forward to working with you and your family, and hope the DLC will be able to accommodate your family’s needs.
It is the DLC’s goal to guide individual development during the early years by providing a nurturing and enriching environment within a Christian setting. We also strive to maintain excellent teacher-parent relationships. Our classrooms offer low child-teacher ratios and interactive surroundings. As an accredited center, DLC exceeds the state childcare standards to reach a high level of quality, which is so important for successful development. The First United Methodist Church Developmental Learning Center is a part of the Church ministry. We are located in the heart of Downtown Dallas. The center is located in the church facilities at 1928 Ross Avenue Dallas, Texas 75201. We offer full time care; hours are from (7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday. The First United Methodist Church Developmental Learning Center does not offer a Mother’s Day Out program nor part-time care.
Our mission is to provide a safe, secure, loving and nurturing Christian environment that encourages young children (and their families) in social, emotional, academic and spiritual development.

Wait List and Enrollment
The First United Methodist Developmental Learning Center’s enrollment is at capacity for 2018. Currently, the DLC waiting list is closed until August 2018. As a result, tours will not be given. When the waiting reopens, applications will be accepted for 2019 Infant care (8 weeks- 6 months) only. There’s no upcoming enrollment for children (6 months and older) in 2018-2019.
Enrollment is based on the age of the child: children from age 8-weeks through 6 months will be accepted for enrollment depending on availability. There is currently a waiting list for infant ages ranging from 8-weeks to 6 months old. For all other children, ages 6 months through 5 years old, there will not be any availability for enrollment. The application fee for the waiting list is $50.00 that is non-refundable. This fee is not applicable to the enrollment fee, when enrollment becomes available. If you would like to schedule a tour to see the school, you must make an appointment. Tours are for expecting parents or if you are planning to adopt an infant only. After placing your name on the wait list, if the Developmental Learning Center does not have space available when you need care, we will keep your name on the waiting list until your child is 6 months old. If we do not have a space available by then, we will remove your name as we are not currently maintaining a wait list for 6 months and older children. We will notify you when a spot becomes available. Please do not call and check on the status for the wait list. For additional information or to schedule a tour, please contact Quenetta Cox at email@example.com.
There is a one-time registration fee of $250.00 per child due at the time of enrollment. This fee is non-refundable and children cannot be assured enrollment until this fee is received. The monthly tuition ranges from $1000.00 for infants through $825 preschool. Special activity fees may be charged to cover the costs of extra events.
Parent Teacher Council (PTC)
The DLC Parent-Teacher Council is an informal group created to foster a partnership between the parents and teachers. The mission of the PTC is to provide opportunities for fellowship among the parents and staff, enrich the learning environment for the children, express appreciation for the teachers, and support the DLC with practical assistance and financial support. The PTC is involved in a lot of different activities such as special events, teacher recognition, classroom assistance and fundraising. The PTC is open to everyone. Please feel free to join upon enrollment. The PTC does not have any involvement regarding the administration of the center; parents should make an attempt to resolve their concern with the Director.
