What is a spiritual direction workshop? It is a weekly series of candid conversations about the challenges of life – accessible conversations about spiritual solutions. The purpose of these conversations is to help you find the spiritual freedom to live the life that God has given you. The working assumption behind the workshop is that God loves you better than you love yourself and you were meant for glory. Topics will include: relationships, men’s and women’s spirituality, finding and doing the will of God, parenting, aging, and answering the question, “How do I respond when suffering persists?”
Leading the Workshop will be The Reverend Dr. Frederick W. Schmidt, Director of Spiritual Formation and Anglican Studies, Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, author of Conversations with Scripture: Luke; What God Wants for Your Life; Conversations with Scripture: Revelation; When Suffering Persists; and A Still Small Voice. FirstChurch folks will remember Dr. Schmidt from last year’s Lenten Workshop on “What God Wants for Your Life.”
Classes will meet Tuesdays at 6:30 PM starting September 21st.

Sign-up sheets for the workshop will also be available on Harwood Landing and in the Narthex after worship
starting August 8th.
