Each January We Offer the Following:

In-Depth Bible Studies
These 8 week, in-depth, Bible study are modeled after the basic design of DISCIPLE Bible study. The study is based on these underlying principles of DISCIPLE: (1) The Bible as starting point, (2) preparation on the part of individual participants, (3) weekly discussion in a small-group setting that builds community, (4) a leader who functions as a facilitator, (5) a video component prepared by Biblical scholars, and (6) a focus each week on a mark of discipleship.

Invitation to The Old Testament
Old Testament BookExplore the Old Testament’s story of God and God's calling of the people of Israel through the many "voices" of the biblical text. Hear the magnificence of a Creation hymn, discover the law and wisdom teachings, listen to the warning of the prophets and explore the poetry of the Song of Solomon. In the two weekly video segments, first gain insight from biblical scholars and then take a visual tour of archaeological sites, ancient artifacts, and other physical remains, related to and illuminating scripture and events. Participants gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Old Testament as an integral part of the Christian Bible and a renewed discovery of our identity in God and God’s vision for all things.

Invitation to The New Testament
New Testament BookExplore the writings of the New Testament using the story of Jesus as the starting point. This survey of the testament looks at how the early church took ownership of and was shaped by the story of Jesus and how the church learned how to develop as disciples and create communities of faith. Participants find a deeper conversation with the writers of the NT and a renewal of our commitment to be shaped---personally and communally---by the story of Jesus. In the weekly video segments, listen as scholars fascinate you with facts and information that opens new understanding and enlightenment for your group. In the second video, sit in on a table conversation between guest scholars and debate key issues in the text.

Studies in Spiritual Formation
These courses are designed to create a setting where you can respond to God's call to an ever-deepening communion and transformation in Christ -- as an individual, as a member of a small group, and as part of a congregation. The focus is on your experience of God and your discovery of spiritual practices that help you share more fully in the life of Christ.

Companions in Christ – Short Term Studies
Companions in Christ BookThe Companions in Christ series offers small groups a powerfully transforming experience in spiritual formation. All resources in the series explore classic spiritual practices, and invite participants to develop daily patterns that open their lives to a deepening relationship with God and one another. There are several volumes in this series, each lasting approximately 9 weeks as a study, and each focusing on a specific aspect of Christian discipleship.
