Christianity is not a spectator sport. It is about becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. That means just coming to worship is not enough to make you a Christian. You have to be involved in the community. Adult Sunday School Classes are the primary place community is built in our church. Adult classes offer study, prayer and service as well, but primarily they are cornerstones on which the Christian community is built. In a church with thousands of members it is impossible to know everyone let alone relate to them on the intimate level we call the church family. Sunday School classes do this. Members will tell you that their classes have been a true extended family to them, providing adopted brothers, sisters, children and grandparents for those whose biological family may be distant in space or time. They share births, deaths, triumphs, tragedies and all the events of life’s journey in ways that only a Christian family can, a covenantal relationship that continually reminds you of God’s presence and love along the way. If what you see here does not fit your
needs, contact
Tom Downing,
Minister of Adult Education, at

He will help you explore possibilities for organizing
a new class.
