FirstKids two years (by
September 1) through Fifth Grade are involved in learning about
their faith, hearing the stories of the Bible, and experiencing
God's love through mission and outreach. Curriculum is evaluated
by the Children’s Education Committee regularly to make sure
that it is in line with United Methodist Christian education guidelines;
it fulfills First Church’s mission statement; it is complimenting
other areas of education for our children such as worship, stewardship,
mission, and outreach; is engaging and active; it connects our
children’s lives to their learning and it is theologically
and age-level appropriate.
FirstKids Sunday School begins at 9:45
a.m.-10:45 a.m. Childcare is available during the 8:45 a.m. and
11:00 a.m. worship services for infants through Kindergarten-age
children. During the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school hour, childcare
is provided for infants and Toddlers.

Worship
During the 11:00 Worship Hour there is a special time devoted
just to the children. Gretchen Combs, our Director of Children’s
Education involves the children in the scripture for the day,
and a message especially designed for them. You never know exactly
how this unscripted discussion will end. The Children’s
Sermon is shared every Sunday, except Communion Sunday.
