UrbanLife Sunday Mornings, August 10 - 31. This introductory study will give participants a “helicopter” view of Christian history, Christian belief and Christian practice. Meets at 9:45 am on Sundays, temporarily in Dickerson Chapel. Next Study: A 2-week study on the Sacraments, September 7: “Communion”; September 14: “Baptism.”
Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, a 13-week program that teaches you how to make the right decisions with your money, will be held on Thursdays, beginning August 28 from 7-9 pm. and concluding November 20. (This class is open to any member of the congregation). FPU class materials are new for 2008. Cost is $95 and can be paid over 2-months if needed. Childcare available if you make a reservation. UrbanLife Mission Trip: September 19 - 21. UrbanLife will serve with “Labors for Neighbors” to replace a roof in Port Arthur on a home that has not been weather-tight since Hurricane Rita. Leave 5:30/6 pm on Friday, work all day Saturday, and return mid-day Sunday. Costs are $95/ea including the bus trip down and back, meals except for Friday night, and dorm-type accommodations at a local UMC. Vic Vines, MD, will be leading the trip. About 20 people are needed to accomplish the job.
