got green? “And all the trees of the forest will sing for joy” As United Methodists, we believe that all of the earth is given to us by God, and it is our responsibility to care for it in a responsible manner. First Church has formed an environmental group to provide education about environmental concerns and inspiration of response. We have celebrated Earth Day with a downtown trash pick-up, begun a recycling program, replaced regular bulbs with compact fluorescents, and offered educational opportunities. We hope that through our efforts more persons will become aware of the concerns of our environment and increase their action in responsible stewardship.
