Adult Education
Adult Sunday School Classes are the primary place community is built in our church. Adult classes offer study, prayer and service as well, but primarily they are cornerstones on which the Christian community is built.
In addition, First Church offers In-depth, short-term, Web-based and special focus studies such as First the Word to further your journey to grow closer to God.

Children's Education
FirstKids Sunday school is a blending of: Seasons of the Spirit, a lectionary based curriculum that integrates worship, learning and service to build a dynamic community of faith for all ages; age-appropriate faith goals consisting of Bible knowledge, Methodist belief and history, and our own First Church history and tradition; and Christian spirituality. World transformation will begin with our children; we are equipping our FirstKids to know the divine love of God, and their own power to be instruments in sharing that love with others.

Congregational Care
At First Church, we have a heart for caring. We care for our congregation and their families with support during times of illness and loss, and with congratulations during times of joy and new birth. Congregational care plays a vital role in bringing the church community together as the body of Christ through note writing, prayer ministry, homebound visitation and worship follow-up calls.

Evangelism
First Church welcomes new members to the joy of our fellowship. Everyone can participate and have a part in the total life of the church. Our spirit is warm and our morale is high. There are many ways we encourage visitors to become members of First Church such as placing telephone calls to welcome visitors, welcoming new members on Sundays, greeting visitors and new members at the Information Center and
distributing church information to downtown & uptown lofts.

The Goodrich Fund
The Goodrich Fund is a permanent fund, which is invested to further the churches ministries. Donors, often in consultation with their estate planers or the church, decide on how he or she wishes to designate a legacy for the future, and thus provide a permanent resource that will allow for the continued ministries of First Church in the heart of downtown Dallas. The mission of The Goodrich Fund is to provide our church family the opportunity to create legacies through charitable gifts that provide long term financial support and a living memorial. Your gift will be perpetual.

Media & Communications
FUMC in downtown Dallas has a tradition of dynamic worship services and has brought this experience to the community through our broadcast ministry for decades. We also provide streaming video of our 11:00 a.m. worship services and audio and video transcripts.

Music & Arts
First Church has maintained a tradition of excellence in music and the arts
for over seventy-five years. As we begin the twenty-first century, we continue that tradition with a dynamic program of Christian music, theatre, dance and original art.
First Church offers choir programs for all ages, handbell choirs and a dramatic performance series featuring local acting talent in popular plays and musicals. In addition, the church is the site of The Goodrich Gallery that features new showings from local and regional artists monthly.

Urban Life
UrbanLife is a ministry for young, urban professionals in their 20s and 30s who seek to build community and deepen spirituality while achieving God’s highest ideals for their careers, finances, relationships, self-development and connection to the world.
Cooking classes, sporting events, Bible studies and other social activities planned throughout the year will bring together even more young urban-ites, our newest neighbors in downtown Dallas.

Youth Education
We have teens from over 20 schools all over Dallas that learn, worship and play right here in downtown with us every week. From Bible Studies, to mission trips, to Sunday school to weekly fellowship, we are a group that knows how to worship, reach out and care! We aren’t your typical neighborhood church: we are diverse, relevant and inclusive!
