A perfect all-day camp for young musicians and actors, 3rd-6th grade

Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas & Dallas Children’s Theater
June 6-10, 2016
Children who have completed grades 3-6
9 a.m.-5 p.m., Lunch break from Noon-1:00 p.m. (All children must bring their own lunch.)
Cost: $150 for members. $200 for non-members. Includes both sessions. Maximum capacity for camp is 25 students.
Spaces will be held for FUMC Dallas members only until March 30. Register early to secure your space!
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Learn to sing and perform at the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas (CCGD) Summer Singing Camp. CCGD directors Cynthia Nott and Kim Ahrens instruct this choral singing camp. Participants will sing, experience large and small group sessions focusing on vocal performance and music theory and participate in instrumental exploration and improvisation sessions with certified Orff-Schulwerk instructor Adrienne Conklin. The week will culminate in a free concert for family and friends. T-shirt provided. No audition necessary.
Afternoon Session: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Explore and develop theater technique with this drama workshop lead by the Professional Theater Artists from Dallas Children’s Theater. Classes will emphasize the importance of character as students are guided to create an original play.
Acting Techniques are explored through warm-ups and theater games. All costumes will be provided. Students will present their original play for family and friends on the last day!
