Memorial Service for Bishop John Wesley Hardt

Friday, June 23, 2017

11:00am - 1:00pm

Bishop John Wesley Hardt served churches in the Texas Conference before his election as Bishop in the United Methodist Church in 1980. In his retirement, Bishop Hardt became active at FirstChurch. He and wife Martha, were members of the Aldersgate Class. Son Joe Hardt, wife, Marie Park, and their children Alex and Sadie are also FirstChurch members. Bishop Hardt’s lasting legacy to FirstChurch and to the United Methodist Church will be felt for decades to come. We return thanks to God for his life in the midst of ours.

Parking: Please park on levels 7-8 in the Bryan Tower parking garage (SEC of Harwood & San Jacinto). These levels will be reserved for all parkers attending Bishop Hardt’s service. Upon entering the garage via the Harwood entrance, parkers will pull a ticket as they enter garage, they will hand the ticket to the attendant upon exiting. (Parking will be free for those attending)

Valet will be available beginning at 9:30 a.m. Valet entrance will be off Harwood, similar to our Sunday setup.

Memorial Gifts: Please send to the Texas Methodist Foundation, specifically for “Lydia Patterson Institute” and/or “Wesley Foundation at Southern Methodist University”.
