In just over one week, the Chancel Choir will present A Celtic Mass during 11:00 worship. This Dallas premier will include a 25 piece orchestra and three distinctive Celtic instruments, the uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes), Irish whistle, and Celtic harp.

Local composer, R. Daniel (Rick) Holt, has been a lifelong musician, beginning more formally as a percussionist at age 5. As the son of a choir director, choral music has been a natural and significant influence in Holt’s passion and career.

Rick HoltAlthough Holt’s setting of the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei is sung in traditional Latin, his composition is quite fresh and teeming with all the energy and drive of River Dance! It will be no surprise that Holt is a seasoned Celtic musician when you hear the brilliant colors of his orchestration.

In addition to A Celtic Mass the Chancel Choir will present a Scottish national favorite, Highland Cathedral arranged by Rick Holt featuring traditional Scottish bagpipes.

This is going to be an inspirational morning of great music and worship! Please invite your friends and family to join us.
