This morning, members of our staff joined DLC students to dedicate the new wall mural just outside the DLC lobby. Rev. Ann Willet blessed the mural, we sang songs, discussed the story of Noah’s Ark, and thanked Jim Finger for his beautiful work, which breathes color and life into our church.

Since 1965, Jim has been making his living as an artist. His career began in Hollywood where he painted movie backdrops for Warner Bros. Studio and evolved into mural painting when he moved back to Dallas years later. Among his most notable works, Jim led a crew to paint the French Room in the Adolphus Hotel and has a hand in the artwork for Dallas Arboretum’s Twelve Days of Christmas every year.

We are grateful that Jim’s artwork has blessed our church. His favorite part is the rainbow, which he describes as the promise of God’s abiding love, and we hope you and your family will stop by to enjoy the scene and discover your own favorite part.
