The Columbarium at FirstChurch

Three years ago, our leadership began to imagine a Columbarium within the walls of
FirstChurch. Following our Christian tradition, this Columbarium will be a final resting place for members and provide a place for families to visit, meditate and remember their loved ones.

The Columbarium at FirstChurch will be constructed underneath our historic Ross Street entrance and Narthex. Names of our dear departed members will be listed on the front of each niche, which bear urns with their cremated remains. Anytime that the building is open, families and friends are invited to visit the Columbarium, and nearby Dickerson Chapel offers a quiet space for prayer and remembrance.

As you and your family begin end of life planning, a minister is available to talk with you about this possibility. Please reach out to one of us. An information page and registration form is enclosed, and you may view additional renderings of the space on our website.

You are also invited to an information meeting on Sunday, October 9 at 12:15 p.m. in the Dining Room.
