Sam Williamson

Sam-Williamson-CG-2015Sam was born and raised in Denton, Texas where his family still resides. In 2001 he moved to Austin to earn his BFA in visual arts studies at The University of Texas where he also earned his teaching certificate in art. After a year of teaching Sam joined the United States Peace Corps in 2007 where he managed a mentoring center in Kaedi, Mauritania in sub-saharan west Africa.

After completing his service Sam was accepted into graduate school with the school of visual arts and design at The University of North Texas to earn his MA in innovation studies. Through his thesis work Sam developed a relationship with the creative learning non-profit organization Big Thought where he still works today as the senior instructional specialist. Sam lives in Dallas with his wife Chelsey and their dogs Kelby and Grover and cat Lola.
