Crossroads Community Services (CCS)

Chairperson: Mary Bester (Email)

For over 16 years, CCS has been at the forefront of nourishing those in need and powering change in downtown Dallas. From volunteering to donations, there are many ways you can help serve our neighbors in need.

Operating under the non-profit status of First United Methodist Church of Dallas, CCS was developed out of the desire to better serve more low-income people in our community. In July 2015, CCS was granted their own 501c3 status. Located at 1822 Young Street in the 2nd floor of the Stewpot building (Presbyterian Church Community Services) on the southwest corner of Park Avenue and Young Street, this mission offers individuals and families in economic distress the support necessary for stabilization and the skills necessary for sustained economic success. While there is a small paid staff operating CCS, they rely on volunteer help to keep things running smoothly and make sure the maximum number of people in need get helped.

CCS nourishes people and powers change in the Dallas community by distributing clothing and nutritious groceries to those in need. Volunteers are most needed Monday – Thursday mornings for intake, food/clothing sorting and distribution, though volunteers are often needed at other times as well.
