Prayer Shawl Ministry

Chairperson: Sandra Martin (Email)

The volunteers in the Prayer Shawl Ministry serve others through the creation of shawls, blankets, lap robes, scarves and caps by knitting, crocheting, looming, sewing and tying prayer knots (on fleece blankets). Participants are asked to contribute one item per year. Members also offer instruction in the needle arts to anyone who wants to learn.

This ministry meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month in the UrbanLife Center and the second Monday of the month at C.C. Young Retirement Center. The Prayer shawls are gifted those who are in the hospital, rehab, or are “Insiders” (homebound). Contact Joan Bexley, joan@bexleyfamily.com or Sandra Martin, tomsandra@att.net.
