Bus Ministry Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to serve our FirstSeniors at C.C Young. Interested drivers: should be between age 25 and 65 need a valid driver’s license with a good driving record (commercial license not required) will typically drive one direction (to/from C.C. Young) one Sunday per month will receive an orientation to bus functioning/features. read more

C.C. Young Retirement Center (a UMW Mission)

C.C. Young is a non-profit, multi-service retirement community supported by the United Methodist Church. Volunteer opportunities include leading discussion groups, book clubs, parties, technology support, office help, and assisting with arts and crafts or games. Three beauty shops on campus, staffed by volunteers, provide opportunities for hair styling, manicures, or donations of salon products. Prayer Shawl Ministry

The volunteers in the Prayer Shawl Ministry serve others through the creation of shawls, blankets, lap robes, scarves and caps by knitting, crocheting, looming, sewing and tying prayer knots (on fleece blankets). Our prayer team is made up of faithful members who volunteer one day a month to be in prayer for the names of persons who have requested prayer, and for other members who are experiencing ill health, rough times in their lives, as well as joys. Card Ministry

Our Card Ministry offers a caring opportunity to encourage and celebrate with others the gift of prayerfully crafted words and beautiful cards. These volunteers take great joy in sending cards of comforting words to our bereaved, and words of celebration to new parents. Cards with words of hope are sent to those recently discharged from hospital, and new baptisms. read more
